Paddyfest Ambassador Competition

The Paddyfest Ambassador Competition has been a tradition since Paddyfest was started 40 years ago. The Ambassador Contest is comprised a talent display, a speech portion, an impromptu question, a group skit and an interview with the judges.

Meet the Contestants

Eilish Brennan

Eilish is the 16-year-old daughter of Patrick and Tara Brennan of Listowel. She attends Listowel District Secondary School, and works part-time as a music teacher at Pick Studio. Some of her interests include, writing and make-up and her biggest hobby is singing and playing guitar. She is actively involved with Black Door Theater at the high school. Eilish has a dream goal of attending McGill University for Psychology. Eilish is sponsored by Lavish Salon.

Kenize Cameron

Kenzie is the 16-year-old daughter of Rick and Janene Cameron of Listowel. She attends Listowel District Secondary School and works part-time at the Listowel Chiropractic and Wellness Center. At school, Kenzie is involved in Black Door Theater and in sports; field hockey, baseball, and track and field. She also enjoys reading, writing and spending quality time with family and friends. Kenzie’s future plans are to attend university and eventually get a masters in Physiotherapy. Kenzie is sponsored by Listowel Chiropractic and Wellness Center.

Emma Roelofsen

Emma is the 17-year-old daughter of Greg Roelofsen of Arthur and Jacqui Roelofsen of Listowel. She attends Listowel District Secondary School and works part-time at Domino’s. Emma is active in Black Door Theater at the high school as one of her biggest interests is acting, while her other hobbies include cooking and baking. Emma’s future plans are to attend Conestoga College for Culinary Management and to one day open up her own restaurant. Emma is sponsored by Domino’s Pizza.

Summer Verwey

Summer is the 16-year-old daughter of Shane and Dana Verwey of Monkton. She attends Listowel District Secondary School and works part-time as a cashier at the Erie Meats store. Some of her interests include being active with basketball, volleyball, soccer and track and field. She has also been involved with Black Door Theater at the high school. Her future plans are to complete high school, attend Western University and study medical sciences. Summer is sponsored by Dynafit.

Laura Taplay

Laura is the 17-year-old daughter of Chris and Chantile Taplay of Listowel. She attends Listowel District Secondary School. Laura’s favorite hobby is dancing and she is involved with the Listowel School of Dance. She also loves to read on her free time and have been involved with Black Door Theater at school. Her future plans are to attend post-secondary school and pursue studying in dance medicine. Laura is sponsored by the Listowel School of Dance.
