About the Celebrations

Paddyfest has always been Listowel’s ‘homecoming’ where the community of North Perth join together over a celebration loosely based around St. Patrick’s Day with the intention of providing a great time in support of a good cause. All funds raised during the various Paddyfest events go towards community projects, local charities, and nonprofits.

Since the beginning, the Kinsmen Club of Listowel has dedicated countless months of planning and preparations to host the largest event in the area. There isn’t a larger event in Listowel — either by size or by duration — than Paddyfest each year! Families, friends, and individuals alike participate in entertaining activities, live music events, delicious meals and more.

Join in making memories that you’re sure to cherish year after year while supporting so many great organizations, it’s an annual celebration for a good reason!

Where it all Began

The History of Paddyfest

In 1977, at the suggestion of Dave Murtha, the Kinsmen Club of Listowel established a celebration called Paddyfest. In its first year, Paddyfest unfortunately, did not meet the success expected, and in the end, lost $4,000 in expenses and countless hours of planning. But the Kinsmen didn’t let that stop them and as time went on, the festival became more popular with each coming year.

Ten years later, in 1988, Paddyfest became a town staple and proudly raised $70,000! To this day, we continue to see great success in both money raised and memories made.

The Paddyfest Purpose

Bringing Our Community Together

The Kinsmen Club of Listowel has a motto, “serving the community’s greatest needs since 1948” and this doesn’t ring more true than through the weeks leading up to, and during Paddyfest.

If we had to choose one word to describe the purpose behind why we host Paddyfest, it would be “community”. Why? Because every event is planned, prepared and hosted by the members of the community, for the residents of the community to enjoy, while raising funds to help the selected, local beneficiaries of the community! Need we say more?

Let’s help build up the community of North Perth together.
